TZANEEN - September 2008

We set off for Rodney & Betsie Hogg's (Nico's uncle & aunt) Avocado farm in George's Valley, Tzaneen on the 20th September. We were last there in the 2nd half of 2005 before Chante's birth, and were very excited to see the family and for the kids to experience the beauty, space and tranquility of the farm.
















Rod & Betsie live on the farm 'Misty Creek' together with their two children - Neil and Dionne, as well as Rod's parents and Betsie's brother - Johan. Nico's grandmother - Ouma Julia - was also visiting at the time we were there so it was great to get to see the whole famdamily on the farm.

















As you can see on this photo - kuier-op-die-stoep with lots of coffee, tea and goodies to eat were in the order of the day.
Although there is lots to do on the farm, even the kids realised that sitting and enjoying the view from the upper-house is the best way to chill-out

INTRO TO THE OLI-4's

Hello!

This blog page belongs to the Oli-4's - which is short for the Olivier's. You see - we have the dilemma that although our surname is French, we are South African and pronounce our surname the Proudly South African way: 'OEH-LEEF-EER' as opposed to the French pronunciation 'OH-LIVE-EEY-AY'. The Afrikaans word for 4 is vier pronounced something like 'FEER' - thus the name Oli-4.

Now that you know where the name comes from, I'll get on with introducing our family:

Nico (victory-of-the-people)
That's me. Born on 6 Dec 1974 in Roodepoort. Engineer in Telecommunications by profession. Married to Monika and father to Chante and Michael


















Monika (wise-counsellor)
Born on 11 Aug 1976 in Pretoria. Qualified as a musician, but full-time mommy right now. Married to Nico and mother to Chante and Michael (as you might have figured out by now)











Chante (joyful-singer)
Born on 2 Jan 2005. She's our gentle-natured little Princess - full of life and has a wonderful imagination.














Michael (who-is-like-God)
Born on 26 Mar 2007. He's our blue-eyed-smiley-boy. He loves being outside & jumping on the trampoline (manini)
